Lango, Acholi and West Nile in a quest to develop this once war-ravaged region.
The Forum brings together leadership at Parliament, Local Council V, Civil

Organizations,
Religious and Cultural institutions, and the Business communities to work
together towards a prosperous Northern Uganda. The Forum envisions a Northern
Uganda that is economically prosperous and peaceful with high quality of life
for its people.

 

NURDEF has secured
the support of Gesellschaft fϋr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), through
the Civil Society in Uganda Support Programme (CUSP) to set up and
operationalize its Secretariate and now seeks application from qualified and
experienced individuals to fill in the position of Regional Coordinator.

 

Job Summary:  The Regional Coordinator based in Gulu will
facilitate and coordinate engagements between the Steering Committee (SC) and
NURDEF Secretariat, and with development stakeholders, manages the secretariat
and support the implementation the Northern Uganda Regional Strategic
Investment Plan in alignment to the NURDEF development strategy. S/he will
organize working meetings for NURDEF and various partners within and outside
the region, and design leadership development interventions for the Steering
Committee. The Regional Coordinator will build and nurture networks within and
outside the region towards funding and implementation of the Strategic
Investment Plan.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

Regional Programme

·       
Implementation
of NURDEF strategic development plan

·       
Coordinates
regional and high-level multi-stakeholder engagements

·       
Developing,
strengthening, and nurturing effective working relationships with development
partners

·       
Initiates
and manages NURDEF’s organizational development processes

·       
Mobilizes
technical and financial resources to support NURDEF investment plan
implementation, RSC meetings, strategic engagements etc.

·       
Ensures
effective networking, communication and information sharing amongst NURDEF
Partners

Management of
Regional Secretariat

·       
Establishes
and manages NURDEF secretariat in Gulu with coordination offices in Lango and
West Nile

·       
Manages
the Regional Database of Partners on behalf of NURDEF.

·       
Co-ordinates
and works very closely with the OPM, DLGs, MDAs to promote synergies, knowledge
sharing and learning across NURDEF Partnership.

Regional Governance

·       
Provides
periodic updates on progress to the Regional Steering Committee (RSC)

·       
Organizes
meetings/General Assembly and act as Secretary to both

·       
Support
the SC to organize NURDEF Annual General Assembly and elections

·       
Works
closely with NUDEF Development partner

·       
Manages
public profile of the Secretariat and overall visibility of NURDEF

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold a Master’s degree in Economics, Political Science, Public
Administration, Social Sciences or related field

·       
At least
six years of experience working with multi-stakeholder in development including
political leaders, private sector, Civil Society, local governments,
Ministries, bilateral and multilateral donors and partners.

·       
The job
holder shall have the ability to multi-task; application of MS Word, Outlook,
PowerPoint, Excel, and working independently.

·       
S/he
pays attention to details, able to appreciate and work with diverse context and
stakeholder, effectively communicate verbally and in written, and result
oriented.
