Job Title:    Quantity Surveyor

Organisation: Roko Construction

Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

Reports to: Internal Auditor

ROKO Construction Limited was founded in 1969 and is today one of
Uganda’s leading construction and civil engineering groups. The late Max Rohrer
and Rainer Koehler, with 50 years combined experience in Africa, made a
commitment to assist in Uganda’s prosperity and development when they founded
ROKO Construction Limited. Together with the directors and over 40 qualified
civil and site engineers, the late Max Rohrer and Rainer Koehler led ROKO
Construction Limited to the forefront of the construction industry to emerge as
the principal contractor in Uganda, and by 2001, we operated only in Uganda and
Tanzania but Uganda has now developed to be a hub for activities in neighboring
countries and we have now heavily invested in Rwanda, Eastern Congo, Burundi
and South Sudan.

 

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  

  • Checking and analyzing costs for tenders
    and contracts for both clients and subcontractors.
  • Maintain an updated reconciliation of
    steel works, block works, concrete works and form works between sites and
    sections.
  • Checking quantities paid to
    sub-contractors vis-a-vis quantities paid by client.
  • Checking rates for Roko Construction
    Limited vis-a-vis sub-contractors and client.
  • Checking works done by Roko Construction
    Limited casuals vis-a-vis sub contracted works.
  • Take sample measurements for some works
    to confirm measurements done by Site Quantity Surveyors.
  • Maintain an updated summary of all
    client payments, advances and retentions for all projects.
  • Checking sub-contractors’ certificates
    for accuracy in computations and work done.
  • Any other work assigned by your superior

 


Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s
    Degree in Quantity surveying, Degree in Building Economics or related
    field
  • Two years of experience in Quantity
    Surveying and Knowledge in computing skills is an added advantage.
  • Aged between 27 and 33 Years
