About US:

National Coalition
for Human Rights Defenders (NCHRD-U) was established in 2013 with 58 members.
The coalition has nearly doubled in size since then, and now consists of 149
individual and organisational members from across the human rights sector in
Uganda.

 

Job Summary:  The Programmes Volunteer will strengthen
NCHRD-U’s role in promoting Youth voice and participation at Local, National
and Regional level.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Identify
youth networks countrywide for strengthening the Youth TTWG

·       
Convene
meetings with the Youth TTWG cluster at National and Regional level

·       
Work
closely with Youth groups to participate in all components of the programme

·       
Support
a capacity strengthening program for the Youth TTWG membership

·       
Establish
and sustain links with Youth-led groups in the different regions

·       
Support
the participation and engagement of Youth groups in local, national and
regional platforms

·       
Participate
in Youth related engagements on behalf of the NCHRD-U

·       
Ensure
the NCHRD-U is responsive to the specific needs of female and male youth.

·       
Support
evidence generation to inform programming and advocacy regarding the Youth

·       
Ensure
all activities are inclusive and participatory, and foster collaboration
between different actors and stakeholders

·       
Support
planning and implementation of all activities, including assessments, studies,
capacity building initiatives, evidence and knowledge management, and
dissemination activities

·       
Establish
a database for Youth related engagements and membership

·       
Support
to the Program activities

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any related field

·       
Has
previously worked with youth groups

·       
Has good
interpersonal skills, flexible, willing to learn and highly innovative with
ability to work under minimum supervision.
