Job Summary: The Manager Innovation & Business
Automation will lead the technology innovation and business automation teams in
the drive to support the Bank transform into a modern digitised bank with
leadership in excellence customer experience and operational excellence through
automation of key business processes and digitalization of the customer
journey.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Lead a
portfolio of innovation and business automation projects through collaboration
with teams across and outside the Bank to manage the successful integration of
technology innovations into new and existing business models, products and
services.
·
Lead the
identification and development of innovative and emerging technologies with
unwavering passion for delivering new innovative customer solutions and
services across business functions.
·
Establish
fintech relationship and develop strategic partnerships with those who share
the Bank’s goal of continuous innovation in technology in order to deliver
convenient customer self-service solutions to market faster than competition.
·
Lead in
supporting internal teams run idea generation platforms and formats like jam
sessions, hackathons and internal or external crowdsourcing.
·
Be the
centre of excellence for innovation and process automation activities in all
domains of the bank (client facing, digital strategy, back-end operations, risk
management & regulatory reporting).
·
Keep
abreast of technology trends, which offer solid, appropriate, cost-effective
business applications & processes to the Bank.
·
Coordinate
with departments and teams to develop business cases for new innovation
projects that can be prioritized by Management.
·
Identify
and document business requirements, recommending business priorities and
advising business on options, risks and costs.
·
Analyse
user requirements and business needs in order to determine and evaluate
potential solutions that meet the business requirements.
·
Interact
with vendors and other strategic technology partners to understand and
recommend data interchange formats, APIs and messaging formats so as to achieve
seamless integration.
·
Facilitate
implementation of new functionality through training sessions demos and the
development of appropriate user documentation.
·
Evaluate
existing and new software technologies in order to enhance business processes
and contribute to strategic business growth.
·
Participate
in software development processes by prototyping new application requirements
and designing new business models.
·
Prepare
system documentation to provide user support for programs and for production
operating procedures.
·
Investigate,
analyse and make recommendations to management regarding technology
improvements, upgrades and modifications.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The
applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information
Technology, Business Computing, Commerce, Accounting, or business statistics or
another related field.
·
Adept at
Financial Technology and Innovation.
·
A
profession qualification in banking e.g. ACIB and Project Management (e.g.
Prince2 would be an added advantage)
·
Ability
to prepare product papers / business case.
·
At least
eight years work experience, 2 of which should be in a senior technology or
operations position at a large financial services institution.
·
Demonstrate
experience in driving technology innovations and business automation initiatives
in financial services.
·
Demonstrate
ability to link and apply complex technologies to business strategies and high
proficiency in information and Communication Technology.
·
Strong
skills in product analysis, business process analysis and redesign.
·
Strong
understanding of banking operations, Fintech and product development trends.
·
Strong
skills in Agile Project Management and project execution is an added advantage
·
Familiarity
with financial services industry in Uganda and the region.
·
Strong
understanding and experience in digital banking services.
