Food for the Hungry
(FH/U) is a Christian international relief and development organization
currently operating programs in Asia, Latin America and Africa with support
offices in the UK, Canada, Switzerland, Sweden, United States of America and
Japan. In Uganda since 1989, FH is operational in the Districts of Adjumani,
Kitgum, Lamwo, Kole, Kween, Mbale, Namutumba and Amudat implementing programs
in four main sectors of Education; Food Security and Livelihoods;
Health/Nutrition and Disaster Risk Reduction; with the Head office located in
Kampala. FH’s primary goal is to end all forms of poverty worldwide.
Job Summary: The Logistics Manager (LM) reports hierarchically
to the Finance and Admin Director. The Logistics Manager is part of FHU’s
Senior Management Team. The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing
procurement and logistics services from a management perspective to ensure
required supplies of commodities, facilities and service needs for program
activities are mobilized efficiently and in a timely manner. He/she will liaise
closely with the Program Director, Regional Program Managers and Area Program
Managers to Field to ensure smooth implementation of activities in the field in
adherence to the laid down Log policies and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

In
charge of the development, implementation and oversight of procurement and
logistics systems and practices (30%)
·
Team
Management and Staff Development (20%).
·
Planning
and Management (20%).
·
Security
(15%).
·
Overseeing
Fleet management, Inventories and Stores (15%)
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The
applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics, Business
Administration, or Supply Chain Management.
·
Advanced
University Degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) in Procurement, Supply Chain
Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or related field is
preferred
·
CIPS
certification highly desirable
·
Minimum
5 -7 years project procurement and logistics management experience within an
INGO environment is required
