Job Summary:  The Head of Human Resources is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of human resources plans and programs in line with the organisation’s human resources strategy.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Develops organisation strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; establishing human resources objectives in line with organisational objectives.

·         Implements human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention and labor relations.

·         Manages human resources operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing staff job contributions; maintaining compensation; determining production, productivity, quality, and designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change.

·         Develops human resources operations and financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.

·         Supports management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions; analyzing information and applications.

·         Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organisation values.

·         Complies with national and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

·         Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

·         Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·         Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development from a reputable University. Masters Degree, added advantage.

·         10+ plus years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources Management.

·         Specialized training in employment law, administrative law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred.

·         Broad knowledge and experience in compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development.

·         Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and coaching skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

·         Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

·         Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

·         Proficiency with Human Resource Information Management Software, added advantage.

·         Age: 30-45 Years.
