Baylor College of
Medicine Children’s Foundation -Uganda (Baylor-Uganda) is an indigenous not-for-profit
child health and development organisation affiliated to the Baylor College of
Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI), a Network of
paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment Children’s Clinical Centres of
Excellence and international program offices in 11 countries across Africa and
Eastern Europe.

 

Job Summary:  The Finance Associate will provide financial
support services for maintaining sound financial controls and production of
timely and accurate financial information in line with the departmental
objectives of Baylor College.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       Process payments related to supplier’s
invoices and cheque payment vouchers as per the Baylor Finance Policy and
international Accounting Standards.

·       Prepare funds transfer letters for review
& approval and write cheques for approved payments as per the financial
control procedures

·       Review and approve petty cash requests of not
more than stipulated amount for transport refund of the authorized corhot
patients and other Baylor patients in line with financial control procedures

·       Prepare the monthly payroll and submit to the
immediate supervisor for review.

·       Maintain the fixed assets register and a
proper filing and storage system of receipts, payment vouchers and other finance
related documents and items such as cheque books, vendor cheques and cash in
line with departmental guidelines.

·       Process payments to service providers and
program advances to staff for program activities and receive cash that has been
returned as balance from program advances from staff in line with the financial
guidelines.

·       Act as an agent to all Bank accounts and
coordinate and monitor all transactions between the Bank and Baylor Uganda in
line with the Financial Control procedures.

·       Prepare Journal vouchers relating to stock
issues from stores and present to the accountant for review and approval.

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       The applicant for the Baylor-Uganda Finance
Associate job should hold a Bachelor of Commerce/Business Administration

·       Two years of related work experience
