Job Summary:  The M & E Specialist will provide
technical support and oversight to monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and
research activities in the Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) project in
Uganda

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
ideal candidate for the Malaria Consortium M & E Specialist job must hold a
Postgraduate degree in public health (with focus on
epidemiology/bio-statistics) or a pertinent social science discipline such as
demography

·       
Experience
working in public health in developing countries within government, an
international organization or research institution

·       
Experience
in the management of project M&E systems

·       
Significant
experience in survey design and implementation including supervision and
quantitative analysis

·       
Proficient
in the development of data entry programmes and in using statistical analysis
software (EpiInfo, EpiData, Excel, Access, Stata)

·       
Experienced
in applying qualitative methods of data collection and analysis

·       
Familiar
with Uganda’s routine HMIS

·       
Demonstrated
ability to work both independently and as part of a team

·       
Good
understanding of the role of M&E and research in public health programmes

·       
Familiarity
with public health programme M&E and research design

·       
Good
knowledge of M&E and research methods

·       
Familiarity
with digital data collection platforms, especially Survey CTO (or ODK with a
willingness to develop skills in SurveyCTO)
