The National Association of Women’s Organisations in Uganda (NAWOU) is an
umbrella organisation of women founded and women led organisations that
registered as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in 1993. Its membership
category is District Networks, which are clusters of women’s Community Based
Organisations (CBOs), Faith Based Organisations (FBOs) and NGOs, national NGOs,
nationally registered FBOs and women’s professional bodies.
Job Summary: The Monitoring
and Evaluation Officer will mainly plan, develop and manage a system for
monitoring and evaluating in accordance with the NAWOU’s mission.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic planning and annual work planning processes
·
Participate
in the strategic planning process for NAWOU by contributing towards the
monitoring plan
·
Lead in
the development of indicators for the strategic plan and annual work plans
·
Review
and updates program/project indicators on a periodic basis
Develop program/project monitoring and evaluation plan and systems.
·
Liaise
with the programme staff to develop monitoring plans for projects
·
Develop
standard performance monitoring tools to monitor the progress based on the
established indicators
Monitoring of activities
·
Prepare
quarterly monitoring plans for NAWOU activities
·
Conduct
regular monitoring visits to the fields to NAWOU activities
·
Collaborate
with the program department to schedule specific field activities for donors as
may be required
·
Equip
and work with other staff on monitoring and evaluation
·
Collate
project and programme monitoring and evaluation data, and populate Management
Information Systems
Design a strategy for regular reporting to management for
decision-making purposes in line with a program implementation plan, NAWOU and
donor requirements
·
Prepare
monitoring and evaluation of annual works plan and budgets for monitoring and
evaluation
·
Contribute
to overall resource mobilisation for projects and advocacy initiatives
Reporting
·
Collect
and processes data on program activities as specified in the program
implementation plan in line with NAWOU’s mission
·
Develop
a reporting system in accordance with NAWOUs report format for regular project
reporting
·
Support
other staff to use the reporting system for development of the periodic project
and organisational reports
·
Package
and disseminates report with relevant stakeholders
Research and learning
·
Contribute
to research design
·
Conduct
research in collaboration with programme Director
·
Document
and share success stories
·
Contribute
to the development and dissemination of information and visibility materials
Strengthen the capacity of NAWOU staff and members in monitoring and
evaluating supported
·
Train
program team and beneficiary representatives on performance monitoring
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The
applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development studies
or management
·
Monitoring
and evaluation
·
Participatory
approaches and methodologies
·
Human
Rights-Based Approach
·
At least
two years of working experience in a community development-oriented
organisation/ projects, and/ or assignments.
Working with an NGO with a bias towards women’s rights is an added
advantage
·
