Job Summary: The Program Officer Livelihoods shall fulfil
various duties and responsibilities while working closely with Livelihood
Coordinator and Social and Behavior Change (SBC) Coordinator to create
comprehensive Environmental action plans concerning resources, budgets and
timeframe for the project. The Program Officer Livelihoods will ensure that,
all deliverables related to clean energy, natural resources management
assessments are delivered in a timely fashion and key lessons learned and best
practices captured based specific environmental practices. The Program Officer
(PO) provides ongoing implementation, monitoring & evaluation and reporting
in regard to the execution of environmental; in particular, innovative energy
clean activities and child protection. Activities will ensure children (and
their care givers/families) in the refugee settlement regain access to safe
living environments and are protected from harmful practices and abuse.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The
ideal candidate for the Save the Children Program Officer Livelihoods DRA job
must hold a Degree level qualification in agriculture, economics, Environment
Management, Community forestry, Forestry entrepreneurship and other related
fields.
·
At least
two years’ experience in environmental/livelihoods programmes.
·
Track
record of supporting community based intervention through use of cash/vouchers
·
Experience
in delivering training to community based structures
·
Performance
and quality management of youth/women programmes.
·
Experience
in working with local NGO partners.
·
Strong
understanding of group dynamics and working with women in a rural setting.
·
Experience
in advocacy and promotion of clean energy products
Desirable
·
Ability
to influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
·
Ability
to work with minimal supervision
·
Ability
to forge excellent relationships with communities, specifically women
·
Experience
in working with persons of disability
·
A good
understanding of best practices, techniques for achieving and sustaining
positive environmental protection.
·
Excellent
communication and presentation skills.
·
Ability
to work as part of field team and successfully join up work with partner
staffs.
·
Excellent
professional use of oral and written English.
