About US:
The Uganda Law Reform Commission is an autonomous body of Government
established under Article 248(1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda
and operationalized by the Uganda Law Reform Commission Act, Cap. 25. The
mandate of the Commission is to study and keep under constant review the Acts
and all other laws comprising the laws of Uganda with a view to making
recommendations for their systematic improvement, development, modernisation
and reform.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Carrying
out revision of laws.
·
Carrying
out legal research for projects of the Commission.
·
Studying
court judgments and preparing reports.
·
Carrying
out simplification and translation of laws.
·
Preparing
reports on projects.
·
Preparing
research proposals for consideration by the Commission.
·
Participating
in analysis and review of policies and laws.
·
Carrying
out any other duties that may be assigned to him/her.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The
ideal candidate must hold an Honours Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized
university.
·
A
postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from a recognized institution.
·
Computer
literacy in MS Word, Spreadsheets, excel, power point presentation and data
analysis packages will be an added advantage.
·
Good
analytical and writing skills.
·
Good
interpersonal skills.
·
Age: 21 years and above
