Job Summary:  The Business Analyst – Affordable Housing will
plan and deliver administrative support to the Affordable Housing business in
line with the Bank’s policies and regulatory framework. Developing and
analysing Affordable Housing credit proposals through effective credit
appraisal and due diligence process in order to achieve quality portfolio
growth.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Review,
document and maintain a register of all Affordable Housing Loans in line with
compliance, risk and regulatory requirements.

·       
Review
and follow up Affordable Housing Loan facilities from inception to disbursement
with respective stakeholders in line with Bank credit policies and procedures,
sign to recommend for disbursement if documentation and analysis so as to fast
track turnaround time for the loans.

·       
Cross
check if loans have been approved in e-work flow and LOS from the branch before
forwarding files to disbursement.

·       
Document
review of files received from the different branches.

·       
Identify
errors, fix and capture the errors in a separate log for follow up.

·       
Daily
monitoring of the pending applications, escalating the pending applications,
keeping track of the sales controllable errors per sales person, preparing the
outstanding items report and sharing the report with the sales persons, Manager
Affordable Housing.

·       
Ensure
that offer letters, KFDs and other key documentation are properly filled and
well signed by the customer before forwarding the files for disbursement.

·       
Monitor
the performance of the loan book to ensure quality portfolio.

·       
Identify
support areas to drive growth in the Affordable Housing portfolio.

·       
Handle
customer queries and complaints and resolve them in a timely manner and
escalate any unresolved queries in in line with the Customer Service Charter.

·       
Ensure
KYC compliance for all files received.

·       
Perform
other duties as assigned.

Financial
Responsibility

·       
Responsible
for the Affordable Housing lending financial targets as will be agreed, from
time to time, using different parameters especially on customer numbers,
Liabilities, Assets and revenue growth.

·       
Responsible
for controlling costs to within agreed budget.

·       
Deliver
on PAR & NPA ratios as per bank recommended thresholds.

·       
Manage
financial costs within personal banking budgets.

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold an Honours degree in banking, Commerce, Business
Administration, Economics, Statistics, management or any relevant field.

·       
Relevant
Practical training in banking, product management.

·       
At least
three years of experience in a Banking, of which two must be in a sales or
credit related role.

·       
Must
have critical thinking, analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving
skills.

·       
Good
understanding of banking or micro lending processes and procedures preferably
from a microfinance institution or commercial bank with an established and
demonstrable record in the field of credit analysis or sales.

·       
Good
understanding of portfolio management process and procedures.

·       
Sound
Understanding of Laws and regulations relating to lending in Financial
Institutions.

·       
Must
have an in-depth understanding about banking product features, pricing,
benefits, positioning, design and promotions.

·       
Highly
organized and self-directed.

·       
Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills

·       
The
ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form in a
professional manner is deemed essential.

·       
Ability
to build functioning working relationships across organizational and cultural
boundaries.

·       
Ability
to demonstrate positive image and role model HFB’s values and leadership
behaviours.

·       
Must be
a person of impeccable integrity.
