Health Access Connect is a non-profit organization that links Ugandans
living in remote areas with healthcare resources. The mission of Health Access
Connect is to link remote communities to healthcare.

 

Job Summary:  The
Regional Coordinators will work with HAC, Africa Resource Centre (ARC),
government officials, and implementing partner (IP) staff and partners to
establish and expand Community Led Drug Distribution Point (CLDDP) and
Community Retail Pharmacy Drug Distribution Point (CRPDDP) models in order to
a) improve antiretroviral therapy (ART) and general treatment health service
provision and b) decongest health facilities. The jobs involve regular field
visits to areas where HAC and ARC are working.

 

Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the implementation of the CRPDDP
    and CLDDP models with partner IP organizations, health facilities,
    pharmacies, and communities
  • Assist in the drafting of documents
    related to program implementation including toolkits, training materials,
    and policies
  • Compile MOUs, Standard Operating
    Procedures (SOPs), and other relevant documents on the implementation of
    CRPDDPs and CLDDPs
  • Draft and distribute implementation
    toolkit to implementing partner organizations (IPs) and Ministry of Health
    officials
  • Research guidelines and necessary
    elements for establishing savings groups
  • Help IP organizations to implement SOPs
    for establishing community based organizations (CBOs) under CLDDP model
  • Harmonize guidelines and toolkits with
    MOH policies
  • Describe CLDDP and CRPDDP toolkits to
    key stakeholders: Ministry of Health officials, IP representatives, and
    district government officials
  • Work with ARC team to make work plan for
    regions to implement CLDDPs and CRPDDPs over the year
  • Connect with concerned IPs and assist
    them in setting up structures to establish and support CLDDPs and CRPDDPs
  • Set up M&E systems in cooperation
    with IPs and MOH officials
  • Collect and analyze stakeholder feedback
    and iterate model description and toolkit
  • Undertake field visits to the districts
    where the project now being implemented 
    to ensure progress
  • Organize 
    meetings with relevant project stakeholders to review on the the
    project progress
  • Review and report on progress
  • Assist Research, Monitoring &
    Evaluation Coordinator in following through with M&E strategy and
    processes
  • Any other duty that may arise to ensure
    project completion

 


Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:

  • The ideal candidate must hold a
    Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in the public health sector
  • Experience working with public health
    facilities, pharmacies, and/or communities
  • Basic knowledge about Differentiated
    Service Delivery (DSD) and Community Drug Distribution Points (CDDPs)
  • (Kampala position) Experience working in
    commodity management, pharmacies, or related work
  • (Lira position) Experience working with
    community groups, community organizing, and/or CBOs

 

Desired

  • Experience working with implementing
    partner (IP) organizations
  • Experience in implementing public health
    programs
  • Experience in monitoring &
    evaluation (M&E)
  • Experience with data analysis and
    presentation software
  • Driving permit
