Job Title: Senior Accountant

Reports to: CEO
About US:
In 1973, the Uganda Co-operative Transport Union was formed, following
the exodus of the Asian community. Starting with just seven trucks, the UCTU
transported crops from district co – operatives to marketing boards, processing
centres and ports for export.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
To plan,
organize, direct and co-ordinate works to the finance department.
·
Initiate
controls as are necessary tor the overall proper control and effective
utilization of the union‘s funds and assets.
·
Coordinate
departmental budgetary requirement, drawing management’s attention to any
serious deviations
from the budget.
·
Provide
management and the Board with monthly and quarterly returns. Including cash
flow projections, expenses vis-a-vis revenue and capital expenditure.
·
Prepare
Annual final Accounts.
·
Carries
out overall supervision and control of staff in accounts department.
·
Should
have acknowledge in Pastel accounting package and URA Reporting systems.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The
applicant must hold a B.A(Com) Degree majoring in Accountancy or/ and a
professional accounting qualification of ACCA, ICSA, IGMA
·
A
minimum of five years of experience from a large and reputable organization.
·
Age: At least 35 years.
Remuneration: Attractive
package in accordance to pay structure of the union.
