Ntinda Vocational
Training Institute is a government institution under Ministry of Education and
Sports supervised by the department or Business Technical Vocational Education
and Training (BTVET). It was established through cooperation between the
Republic of Korea and Uganda governments to serve for the job seeker, the
unemployed, the youth and workers in the skills sector.

 

Job Summary:  The Security Officer will supervise and
provide adequate security to the Institute and all its premises in conjunction
with either or both hired and national security agencies

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Secure
and protect property premises and personnel by patrolling property: monitoring
surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment and access points;
permitting entry doors, windows and backyards arc secure

·       
Coordinate
with hired security management and evaluate the performance of hired guards as
far as providing dependable security in the organization

·       
Prevent
losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy
and procedures; restraining trespassers

·       
Report
any security related incidents, hazards or un usual occurrences

·       
Lead and
control the institute firefighting services

·       
Operate
emergency equipment.

·       
Control
traffic by directing drivers

·       
Ensure
the security, safety and well-being of all personnel and properties there in at
all times.

·       
Ensure
checking and screening of all persons who are authorized when entering and
leaving the premises.

·       
Control
access to buildings and protecting employees, guests and the public.

·       
Document
night operations and filling weekly reports

·       
Investigate
breaches of property.

·       
Diffuse
potential volatile situations and intervene when necessary to perform first aid

·       
Respond
to medical emergencies, bomb threats, fire alarms following emergency response
procedures.

·       
Perform
any other related duties that may be delegated by your supervisors.

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold a Degree in any field.

·       
Diploma
in either Law or Security management or Security consultancy is an added
advantage.

·       
At least
five (5) years working experience as a security officer in a recognized
security agency/organization.

·       
Related
work experience with the Uganda Police or Army in a senior rank is an added
advantage

·       
Knowledge
in handling security issues and criminal cases.

·       
Conversant
with concepts of institutional discipline and conduct.

·       
Contributes
to team working accomplishing related results as needed.

·       
Adheres
to all company service and operating standards.

·       
Acts
quickly and correctly in a crisis situation.

·       
Enforces
laws, rules and company policies.

·       
Excellent
customer service skills.

·       
Good
management and supervisory skills.

·       
Effective
communication and interpersonal relationship.

·       
Knowledge
of Security operations and Fire Inspection Procedures

·       
Surveillance
Skills

·       
Integrity
& professionalism

·       
Age: 30
years and above
