Job Summary:  The Maltings Team Leader will lead the
Maltings Operational team in order to meet and exceed production performance
targets in a highly productive manner.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

Maintain a safe,
healthy and risk free work environment

Ensure
adherence safety, health and environmental legislation and procedures

·       
Maintain
safety and housekeeping standards

·       
Facilitate
Sustainable Development initiatives

Optimize production
process and Performance

·       
Co-ordinate
Autonomous Operations(ATO)

·       
Monitor
production processes

·       
Communicate,
interpret and implement production plan for shift

·       
Support
the team to improve process quality, hygiene and productivity

Optimize team
performance

·       
Implement
Target Setting and Cascading with in the team

·       
Facilitate
effective team dynamics (participative team meetings, one on one, team communication,
team building, team maturity, respect /discipline, respect for code of conduct,
team vision/mission, conflict handling, improve trust levels in the team)

·       
Communicate
effectively in the workplace (within team, & other internal/external customers/suppliers)

Ensure application
of administration systems and procedures

·       
Administer
conditions of employment for team members

·       
Prepare
and control budgets around Overtime/duty allowance; acting allowance; leave allowance
among others

Facilitate
continuous improvement, team problem solving and decision making

·       
Apply
problem solving and decision making techniques and principles including situational
problem solving-Problem identification, Problem definition, QFR application,
5why, Loop closure & Escalation.

·       
Participate
in systemic problem solving (Loss and Waste, ABR and PDCA & ITFs)

·       
Support
the overall Maltings team initiatives and arrangements

Manage and Develop
People

·       
Develop
employees through facilitating learning and development of team members; CAP

·       
Manage
and apply personnel processes in line with the company procedure

·       
Ensure a
healthy industrial relations climate between the employees and the company

·       
Lead
Maltings production activities in accordance with the VPO principles and practices.

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
ideal candidate must hold a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry or Biochemistry,
Food Science and Technology, Eng. (Mech. /Elect.) or equivalent; a Diploma in
Brewing (IBD) is added advantage

·       
Apply

years’ experience in Maltings or related field at line management

of process control within a Maltings/process environment

understanding of Maltings principles and good practice

·       
Attention

Deep
understanding of maintenance practices
