Job Summary:  The Credit Supervisor will manage the credit
underwriting process at the branch and ensure that loans are issued and
disbursed in accordance with the bank policies and procedures.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

Vetting and
approval of loan applications:

·       
Vet
credit files for validity, completeness and accuracy of information and ensure
careful completion of the pre-disbursement checklist before loan disbursement.

·       
Ensure
loan applications are presented to the committee only after a valid and
corresponding application has been made to the CRB.

·       
Responsible
for ensuring proper valuation of collaterals, collateral monitoring and
collateral reconciliation with original documents.

·       
Interact
with customers whose loans are due for disbursement and ensure that customers
have understood the terms and conditions of the loan before final disbursement.

·       
Ensure
credit applications are analyzed at the minimum on the 5Cs of credit before
presenting to the credit committee.

·       
Ensure
faster turnaround time for processing customers’ loan requests.

Credit
Administration, Credit Monitoring and Recovery

·       
Review
loan data and KYC information in the system to identify errors or mis-postings
and take corrective actions in line with the credit policy and procedures.

·       
Perform/ensure
daily review of loans in arrears as well as expected payments and effectively
follow-up for timely collection.

·       
Perform
regular review of active loans, overdraft accounts and the non-funded credit
lines, identify early warning signals and take corrective actions in line with
the credit policy and procedures.

·       
Implement
an efficient system for receipt, custody, retrieval and movement of credit
files and loan securities in line with the credit policy.

·       
Ensure
follow up and compliance with any post disbursement conditions and covenants eg
further charges, caveats, turnover covenants, payment of insurance policies,
etc.

·       
Follow
up on timely resolution of audit, compliance and supervisory issues as well as
implementation of the recommendations and take corrective actions in line with
the credit policy.

·       
Participate
in conducting periodical review on loan administration policy and procedures to
streamline workflow.

·       
Monitor
the classification and provisioning for all branch loans in line with FIA and
MDI guidelines.

 


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration,
Agriculture, humanities or any other related discipline gained from a reputable
University.

·       
Five (5)
years’ work experience as a Loans/Credit Officer in a regulated Financial
institution.
