LifeNet
International (LN) exists to transform African health centers to provide
quality, sustainable care. Operating in East Africa, LN works to improve the
quality of health systems from the ground up and is specifically dedicated to
health systems strengthening in the private not-for-profit sector. In Uganda,
approximately 60% of all healthcare services are provided by faith-based
not-for-profit centers, many of these serving rural, low-income populations.
Through partnerships with faith-based health centers, LifeNet implements
practical responses to everyday health challenges facing the poor.
Job Summary: The Multimedia Associate will work with both
the Uganda Country Director and our Vice President of Advancement (based in
USA) towards the development of fundraising, marketing and publicity tools, and
content for promoting LN’s work in Uganda and across Sub-Saharan Africa. This
position will have a local focus working with our Uganda leadership team in
generating and producing content for online distance learning, which is a brand
new program pioneered in late 2020. This is a vital extension of LifeNet’s
ability to deliver health and management training in creative and dynamic ways
across all of our country programs. We are looking for a motivated, creative
individual with talents in communications, multimedia, video production and
editing, as well as storytelling to a variety of stakeholders and audiences.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Contribute
to the process of digitizing and producing additional training content through
our online distance learning platform
·
Supervise
local storytelling and implement a qualitative data collection process for the
Uganda team
·
Support
the Vice President of Advancement with any communication and media requests,
fundraising activities, proposal information and report creation, with a focus
on reports requiring multimedia
·
Perform
site visits to interact with our partners and team members in the field
·
Gather
stories from and photographs of patients and health workers during field visits
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
At least
one year of professional experience in a related field (multimedia, production,
writing, etc.)
·
Excellent
English writing and communication skills, with experience telling compelling
stories through reports and other materials for external audiences*
·
Graphic/visual
design skills, e.g. experience in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator,
and/or InDesign*
·
Experience
in video and multimedia production, across all levels of planning, design, and
execution*
·
Organizational
skills, ability to coordinate activities across various departments and ability
to prioritize*
·
Experience
or familiarity with public/global health or development work
·
Master’s
degree or certification in communications, public health or a related field
·
Experience
or familiarity with church institutions
·
Experience
working with a production studio or video editing and production
·
An
excitement for analyzing complex organizational problems, identifying
innovative solutions, and engaging others to implement, preferably in a
low-resource environment
·
Ability
to perform in an entrepreneurial team-based environment, deliver strong
results, and ask for help when needed
·
Ability
to function well in a diverse, cross-cultural work environment
·
Excellent
Interpersonal and intercontinental communication skills
