Job Summary:  We are looking to appoint a Vetting Officer
(VO) who will conduct background investigations and interviews on applicants
and their referees; assess all information gathered against the requirements
checklist, and report on the suitability of the applicant/ customer to acquire
a facility from WATU Credit Uganda Ltd. The main purpose of this role is to
ensure relevant checks for customer applications are completed and complied
with the set standards and requirements of WATU. These checks will be completed
in a timely matter for new and already on-boarded customers. This position
plays an essential role in the on-boarding process, to ensure all pre-screening
checks are completed prior to decision making.


This position will
best suit somebody who has a sound understanding of the vetting process and
enjoys working collaboratively with front-line staff to gather data, draw out
lessons learned and then communicate the outcomes and impact in an engaging and
credible way. This position will be based in Fort Portal but will require
flexibility to work across all our branch network within Uganda from time to

will be predominately completing pre-customer screening, the role will also
require completing background checks for existing customers.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business
Administration, Social Science, Security, or any relevant field

to pay attention to detail

Keen on
following processes and procedures

communication skills, both written and verbal

computer skills

interpersonal skills, with the ability to work within a team environment or

to ride a motor bike with a riding license is essential for this position.
