Job Summary: Watoto is seeking to recruit a Medical
Laboratory Coordinator to support in the delivery of quality and reliable
medical laboratory services to meet the health needs of Watoto.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
To
provide leadership and oversight to the Watoto medical laboratories in Gulu,
Bbira and Suubi.
·
To lead
and manage laboratory staff and volunteers to achieve the highest quality of
service delivery.
·
To
provide evidence based medical laboratory services to Watoto child care clients
and ensure that high standards of Quality assurance and control are maintained.
·
To
participate and oversee the development and monitoring of Laboratory standards,
practice protocols, standard operating procedures, and adherence to compliance
at Laboratory level.
·
To
assist in the design and implementation of program monitoring and evaluation
strategies
·
To
support in strategic planning for the laboratories in accordance with the
department protocols and policies.
·
To
ensure an up to date maintenance of all patients’ records and Laboratory
inventory.
·
To
ensure that education programmes are well-planned and coordinated.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The
ideal candidate for the Watoto Medical Laboratory Coordinator career
opportunity must hold a of a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory
Technology/science.
·
Should
have a valid annual practicing licence from Allied Health Professionals
Council.
·
At least
three years’ experience in a similar role in a large and busy organisation.
·
Must
possess good managerial, administrative and leadership skills to ensure you
achieve departmental objectives and goals.
·
Passionate
about community health care with ability to work effectively within a team
environment.
·
Commitment
to working within standardized guidelines.
·
High
level of motivation and initiative and the ability to strive for a high
standard of practice.
·
Team
player, result oriented, self – motivated, able to work with minimum
supervision and for long hours under extreme pressure,
