(WVU) is a Christian relief, development and advocacy non-government
organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to
overcome poverty and injustice. We currently work in 43 districts and have 48
Area Programmes implementing projects in health & nutrition, water,
sanitation & hygiene (WASH), livelihoods & resilience, education and
child protection. World Vision (WV) is committed to the protection of children
and adult beneficiaries from exploitation and abuse and will not employ people

Job Summary:  The Project Officer Health is responsible for
direct project implementation and contributes to the project outcomes in line
with World Vision’s policies and standards.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

Project Management

·       
Take the
lead in the roll out of the projects activities by ensuring that the projects
are using the most appropriate innovative and cost effective technologies.

·       
Provide
necessary technical guidance to system’s partners during the course of the project

·       
Manage,
and supervise all core interventions at the lower level with in the DIP

·       
Work
closely with health specialist for the purpose of quality assurance of
activities execution

Partnerships
Development

·       
Liaise
with development agencies and partners on collaborative work related to NTDs
and other initiatives to position World Vision as a strategic partner in health
landscape

Reporting and
Accountability

·       
Maintains
records of activity implementation as approved by the PM in a developed ToR

·       
Produces
monthly report that shows what has been active and done in the project area

·       
Manage
allocated monies and organization resources (such as phones, cameras, bike
cards) as per agreed practices

·       
Prepares
for and participates in evaluation projects when required

·       
Participates
in meetings and contribute to organization development

Monitoring,
Reporting and Evaluation

·       
Works
with the Project coordinator in the preparation of quality project reports are
submitted on time to support offices and donors.

·       
Work
with health specialist/staff and program development team in the roll out of
baseline surveys and evaluation of the project, on the required basis

·       
Oversee
the rollout of the project data collection process at the community and health
facility level

·       
Undertake
any other duties as assigned by the Project coordinator

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
ideal applicant for the World Vision Project Officer Health job must hold a
University Degree in Public health and Environmental Health Sciences

·       
Masters
of Public health is added experience

·       
At least
two years’ experience in working in the area of health.

·       
Experience
in working communities with good knowledge of public health system and
structures

·       
Knowledge
of NTD methodologies and other related approaches

·       
Report
writing skills,

·       
Working
under minimum supervision,

·       
Computer
Literacy

·       
Practicing
gender & cultural diversity

·       
Resource
mobilization
