About US:

The Public Service
Commission is established under the provisions of  Article 165(1) of the
1995 Constitution. In fulfillment of its functions under Article 166,  the
Commission is required to make a report to Parliament in respect of each year’s
performance of its functions.

 

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
The incumbent
will be responsible to the Senior Petroleum Officer, Development for performing
the following duties:-

·        
Participating
in the evaluation and analysis of Field Development Plans and reservoir
engineering and simulation modelling of petroleum fields submitted to
Government by oil companies for licenses;

·        
In
charge of proposing design and analysis of well completions and reservoir
stimulation development in order to facilitate the decision and policy
formulation on the concepts, technologies, and operational strategies;

·        
Participating
in the evaluation of reservoir depletion strategies, secondary and tertiary
recovery methods;

·        
Participating
in the evaluation of the reservoir risks and uncertainties associated with
development wells and production facilities aimed at increasing field recovery;

·        
Participating
in the review and evaluation of the reservoir management programme in order to
maximize hydrocarbon recovery;

·        
Following
-up on wells realization and interpretation of acquired data and providing
input for annual resources reporting;

·        
Any
other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·        
Applicants
should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical
Engineering; or Petroleum Engineering; or Geo Science; or any other related field
from a recognized University /Institution.

·        
Ethics
and integrity; interpersonal, communication and computer skills; ability to
adapt to multi-cultural settings; effective organizational and planning skills;
time management skills; technical skills; report writing skills; negotiation
skills; capacity for teamwork; innovation and concern for results, quality and
standards.

·        
Age: Above 21 years
