delivery organization. RHSP strives to improve the quality of life of the local
population through a combination of community-based research, curative
services, and prevention strategies in the districts of South-central Uganda.

 

Job Summary:   The Procurement Officer will provide
Procurement support services in all RHSP procurement functions in accordance
with RHSP procurement guidelines and procedures.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Check
and prepare specifications, terms of reference & statement of requirements
in liaison with user departments.

·       
Preparing
and issuing Request for quotations or Request for Proposal.

·       
Conduct
evaluation of bids and make appropriate recommendations.

·       
Liaise
with service providers on procurement matters.

·       
Ensure
safe custody of all procurement records.

·       
Prepare
submissions for the contracts and procurement committee.

·       
Prepare
purchase orders and agreements for the respective service providers.

·       
Ensure
timely delivery of goods and services.

·       
Work
with the RHSP managers and staff as part of an effective and collegial team to
achieve RHSP goals/objectives.

·       
Ensure
timely payment of suppliers.

·       
Carry
out any other assignments as may be allocated by the supervisor.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain
Management from a reputable University

·       
Completed
or pursuing CIPS

·       
Basic
knowledge of Accounting, proficiency in Excel and Navision or other ERPs is an
added advantage

·       
A
minimum of credits in English and Mathematics at ordinary level.

·       
Two
years of working experience as a procurement officer in a reputable
organization.

·       
Thorough
knowledge of procurement principles and procedures and attention to detail.

·       
A high
degree of integrity and confidentiality.

·       
Ability
to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

·       
The
incumbent must possess excellent communication, team working and good
interpersonal skills.
