delivery organization. RHSP strives to improve the quality of life of the local
population through a combination of community-based research, curative
services, and prevention strategies in the districts of South-central Uganda.
Job Summary: The Laboratory field officer will provide
technical support to the district laboratory staff in the various supported
health facilities in Rakai and Kyotera districts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Build
capacity to provide quality HIV testing services in health facilities and
communities through coordination and supervision of labs in liaison with the
district lab focal persons and hub coordinators.
·
Strengthen
existing lab Hub systems and monitor the accreditation program for approved
district laboratory Hubs through mentorships and support supervision.
·
Build
capacity for Labs to develop district laboratory procurement plans and support
timely and accurate ordering of laboratory supplies, monitor stock levels and
redistribution of Lab supplies.
·
Prepare
and submit regular (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) Laboratory progress
reports.
·
Ensure
that all non-hub labs are enrolled and supported to implement LQMS.
·
Ensure
that all lab equipment have regular preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
is done to ensure they are fully operational.
·
Participate
in budgeting of Laboratory activities, requisitioning and appropriately account
for all program funds and assets.
·
Any
other assigned duties in line with your role.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The
applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology
(medical Laboratory sciences) from a recognized educational institution.
·
At least
one year’s experience working in a district led programming.
·
Proficiency
in laboratory quality management systems especially ISO 15189:2012
implementation (LQMS/ SLMTA training)
·
Valid
annual practicing license with allied health professional’s council.
