mobile laboratory company presently operating in Kampala and its surrounding
areas. We provide home-based lab testing services in a range of areas including
COVID-19 Sample picking, Stat Draws, Critical Timed Sensitive Draws, Cancer
Screening, Cholesterol Testing, Medication Level Testing, Thyroid Testing,
Routine Draws, Timed Antibiotic Testing, Glucose Level Testing, Specimen
Pick-up and delivery and more! Such a company comes in handy at a time as this when
time is of the essence and social distancing, urban riots, traffic congestion
and other inconvenience make life in the urban areas less enjoyable.
Job Summary: We are scaling up our operations to cater for
the increasing demand for mobile health services in Uganda and would like to
recruit a competent and experienced accountant/ cashier to handle our finances.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides
financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting
data; preparing reports.
·
Documents
financial transactions by entering account information.
·
Summarizes
current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet,
profit and loss statements, and other reports.
·
Maintains
accounting standards at JOWA Health by preparing and recommending policies and
procedures.
·
Reconciles
financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
·
Ensures
that financial information is safe by completing database backups.
·
Maintains
financial security by following internal controls.
·
Prepares
payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
·
Answers
accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting
policy and regulations.
·
Complies
with the local financial legal requirements of Uganda by studying existing and
new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management
on needed actions.
·
Maintains
customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information
confidential.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The
ideal candidate must hold a diploma in accounting, finance or a related field
·
CPA
would be an added advantage (it is not required)
·
One
year of experience in accounting/finance in a company/ NGO setting
·
Experience
with financial reporting requirements
·
Ability
to work with modern accounting software (QuickBooks, Excel, etc.) is a plus
·
MUST be
good with MS Word
·
