All Polling Stations countrywide, Uganda

Reports to: Presiding
Officer

Allowance: Shs.
40,000/= per day of presiding.

 

About US:

The Electoral
Commission of Uganda, also Uganda Electoral Commission, is a constitutionally
established organ of the Government of Uganda, whose mandate is to
“organise and conduct regular, free and fair elections” in the
country, in an efficient, professional and impartial manner. It was established
under Article 60 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.

 

Job Summary:  The Polling Assistants will assist in conducting
the four (4) major categories of elections, on polling day.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Reports
to the Presiding Officer;

·       
Verification
of Voters using the Bio-metric voter verification kit and or hard copy of the
voters register;

·       
Issuance
of ballot papers to the voters;

·       
Marking/dipping
the finger of a voter after casting the ballot;

·       
Assisting
the Presiding Officer to fill election forms at the start and closure of
polling;

·       
Assisting
the Presiding Officer in management of the polling station;

·       
Any
other duties as assigned;

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
Possession
of Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent.

·       
Should
have high moral character and proven integrity.

·       
Preferably
a resident of the area where the polling station is located for at least one
(1) year.

·       
Must be
a registered voter.

·       
Experience
in elections related work is an added advantage.

·       
Age
limit
: 18 years and above
