Job Summary: The STRIVE Project Officer role is a crucial
function in planning, organizing and leading on the implementation, monitoring
and reporting to support the delivery of the STRIVE Project.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Lead on
project Planning, Budgeting and implementation for the STRIVE project in line
with donor planning and budgeting guidelines and timelines.
·
Ensure
Project budget expenditure are within the planned time frame and approved
budget.
·
Financial
management and accountability in line with organisation’s policy and guidelines
·
Facilitate
effective monitoring, evaluation, documentation and reporting in line with
agreed organizational targets and standards.
·
Manage
project information and documentation processes, and ensure effective
communication of the project results
·
Identify,
Build, maintain and effectively manage strategic partnerships and collaborations
at the project level.
·
Develop,
expand and maintain effective and efficient (local) networks with relevant
stakeholders, identifies possible new partners, and functions as the interface
between WAU and the district/ partners.
·
Participate
in the development of technical and financial scopes of work for subcontractor
procurements
·
Guide
and spearhead district level advocacy in areas of Climate Change Resilient WASH
·
Ensuring
that project implementation conforms to quality standards and best practices
·
Ensure
timely and high-quality evaluation processes, coordinate the evaluation process
and monitor with the district, proposes corrective measures and lessons learned
based on evaluations, and ensures identification of follow up assignments
·
Risk
Management – Monitor and address or report any risk to management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The
ideal candidate must hold a Degree in Social Sciences, especially Environmental
studies or any other relevant discipline.
·
At least
five years of experience in climate change and project management related work
areas.
·
Experience
in the field of climate change would be a strong advantage
·
Proven
knowledge of and professional experience in project management
·
Planning
and organizational skills
·
Strong
communication skills both written and spoken English and confidence interacting
with different stakeholders
·
Excellent
organizational skills, proven ability to manage competing demands on time while
still meeting deadlines
·
Strong
attention to detail and able to deliver work of a high standard
·
Highly
motivated, able to self-start and proactively seek guidance or direction where
required
·
Team
player with commitment to collaborative working
·
Excellent
Microsoft computer knowledge and ability to work independently and efficiently
with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
