About UNRA:

The Uganda National
Roads Authority (UNRA) was established by the National Authority Act, No. 15 of
2006. UNRA became operational on 1st July 2008. The mandate of UNRA is to
develop and maintain the national roads network, advise Government on general
roads policy and contribute to addressing of transport concerns.

Job Summary:   The Senior Information and Solutions
Architect is responsible for acting in a consultative and facilitating role to
business units and project teams to research, identify, analyze, design and
evaluate stakeholder information and user experience needs in all operational
improvement initiatives. The Information and Solution Architect uses story
boards, graphics, animations, user interface designs, websites, intranets and
all artifacts that can facilitate communication and shared understanding of the
business architecture, information architecture, process documentation,
Products/Services and improvement initiatives to different internal and
external stakeholders.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:

·       
Identify
stakeholder’s behaviors, needs and motivations through ethnography, observation
techniques, task analysis, and other methodologies that incorporate both the
social and technological context

·       
Analyze
communication, user experience and accessibility needs in business architecture
and operations improvement initiatives providing expert advice and guidance to
support adoption of agreed approaches.

·       
Plan and
lead communication artefacts and user experience design activities for
strategic, large and complex Improvement Programmes

·       
Integrate
required visual design and branding into the communication and user experience
design activities.

·       
Design
and develop users’ digital and off-line tasks, interaction and interfaces to
meet agreed usability and accessibility requirements.

·       
Conduct
user experience evaluation of processes and systems to assure that the
usability and accessibility requirements have been met, required practice has
been followed, and systems in use continue to meet organizational and user
needs.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

·       
The
ideal candidate for the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) Senior
Information and Solutions Architect job opportunity must hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in Information Technology, Software engineering, Industrial Art and
Design or related disciplines;

·       
2 or
more years of relevant work experience in User Experience Design, information
graphics design, process modeling and animations.

·       
Intermediate
to advanced skills in user research, user experience analysis and user
experience design.

·       
Intermediate
to Advanced level of knowledge of Website development, Animation and Graphics
Design.

·       
Basic to
Intermediate level of technical competency in business modeling, as well as in
business improvement methodologies and tools.

·       
Intermediate
analytical and creative thinking skills, including the ability to apply and
interpret intermediate to complex statistical analysis, competence in
collecting and analyzing data, organizing materials and developing appropriate
conclusions and recommendations.

·       
Strong
interpersonal and communication skills, including oral, written, facilitation,
mediation, collaboration and presentation skills, as well as the ability to
communicate effectively with and influence individuals at all levels of the
organization.

·       
Ability
to work independently as well to work effectively in a team-based environment,

·       
Ability
to effectively coach, mentor, and train individuals, as well as serve as a
subject-matter-expert, on user experience design tools and techniques.
