Administrator

leading sugar manufacturer in Uganda, the third-largest economy in the East
African Community.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Installing
Oracle software and Maintenance.

·       
Day to
Day Database administration and Creating Oracle databases

·       
Starting
up and shutting down the database

·       
Proactively
monitoring the database’s health and taking preventive or corrective action as
required

·       
Monitoring
the database’s storage structures and files system.

·       
Managing
users and security.

·       
Troubleshooting.
Database Tuning Performance Monitoring, Capacity Planning • Authentication,
Security, Database Backup and Recovery, Specialized Data Handling Data
Extraction, Transformation, and Loading.

·       
Managing
schema objects, such as tables, indexes, and views

·       
Responsible
for monitoring database backups and performing recovery when necessary.

·       
Must
have knowledge of Data guard.

·       
Ability
to work independently and proactively.

·       
Team
player with excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
Applicant
should be holder of any of the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree
preferred in Information Technology OR Computer Science

·       
An ideal
candidate should have at least minimum 3 years experience in a similar working
environment, with a thorough knowledge of Oracle Database and Operating system
such as Solaris/Linux
