Job Summary: The Microfinance Supervisor – Social Banking
will actively contribute to the overall performance of the Microfinance Assets
and Liability portfolio within the Bank by;
·
Recruiting
(Identify and generate new SACCOs, VSLAs and Investment clubs through strategic
partnerships).
·
Maintaining
(maximize successful financial outcomes for the bank and for the Customers in
this segment).
·
Training
(Ensure that all staff and clients are provided with holistic product knowledge
and multi-dimensional and training with an eye toward constant improvement
towards financial growth).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Drive
acquisition of risk assets and liabilities from Investment Clubs, VSLAs, and
SACCOs.
·
Generate
partnerships and manage Relationships
·
Drive
profitability of the Investment Clubs, VSLAs, and SACCOs segments by mining the
value chains for optimal value to both customers and the bank.
·
Manage
all Investment Clubs, VSLAs, SACCO related business relationships with the Bank
e.g arranging meetings/calls and presentations as well as attending to
enquiries.
·
Monitor
daily activities on Investment Clubs, VSLAs, and SACCO accounts and generate
daily, weekly and monthly activity/progress reports.
·
Work in
partnership with Treasury team, Branch and Regional teams, and other functions
to develop, and execute customer requests.
·
Serve as
the Investment Clubs, VSLAs, SACCO desk sponsor within the bank to assure high
levels of client service, appropriate lines of credit, and resolve
documentation issues that could arise.
·
Keep
abreast of financial market developments of relevance to this client segment
for efficient provision of financial services.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The
applicant must hold a Bachelor’ degree in a Business related field.
·
Training
in Business management and Financial Literacy is a plus.
·
Understanding
of Investment Clubs, VSLAs, Sacco’s business environment.
·
Understanding
of Commercial Banking business will be an added advantage.
·
A high
level of business acumen and understanding of Relationship management.
·
Computer
skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel; email; internet);
·
Strong
Interpersonal skills (ability to provide sensitive, thoughtful customer care;
diplomatically negotiate to solutions; persuade; understand client backgrounds/situations);
·
Communicate
and report (verbal and written)
·
Listen
to clients across multiple areas of life and provide thoughtful counsel;
·
Planning
and performance management skills;
·
Able to
demonstrate creativity in training, maintaining client relationships,
marketing, and accessing relevant resources as necessary
·
Openness
to implementing innovative adult training approaches essential.
·
Ability
to engage in work-related communication as needed (write reports; communicate
through emails and memos)
·
Able to
engage professionally with work relationships across all the Bank departments
·
Able to
engage professionally in external relationships
·
Knowledge
on sign language is an added advantage.
