About US:

The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) is a Provident Fund mandated to
provide social security to its members as prescribed by law under CAP 222 (Laws
of Uganda) through efficient management of members’ contributions. The NSSF
asset base is currently over Ugx. 9.8  trillion, making the Fund one
of the largest players in Uganda’s economy.

 

Job Summary:  The Information
Security Managerwill mainly strengthen information security of the Fund so as
to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the Fund’s data against cyber
threats which could paralyze the operations of the Fund and undermine its
reputation.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·        
Establish
and maintain information security policies, processes, procedures and system
security baselines

·        
Monitor
the Fund’s information technology architecture and advise management on
emerging cyber threats that could affect the Fund’s information assets and
operations.

·        
Champion
a robust identity and access management program that ensures only authorised
users access the Fund’s resources without violating privacy requirements.

·        
Promote
security awareness by developing and implementing a security awareness and
training programme across the Fund

·        
Conduct
periodic information technology risk assessments [Penetration tests and
vulnerability assessment] and advise management on remediation measures.

·        
Coordinate
the evaluation, investigation and testing of new technologies to enhance the
Fund’s information security infrastructure

·        
Coordinate
disaster recovery tests to ensure that the Fund is able to return swiftly to
normal operations in case of a disaster.

·        
Investigate
information security incidents in accordance with the security incident
management standard, produce reports, with recommendations and ensure remedial
actions are undertaken.

·        
Any
other task as the supervisor may deem necessary

 

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:

·        
The
applicant for the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Information Security
Manager job placement must hold a university degree in information technology,
information systems, computer science, or software engineering.

·        
Relevant
professional qualification such as CISM, CRISC or CISSP are a must.

·        
At least
six years’ experience in conducting IT risk assessments and information
security in a busy business organization.

·        
Strong
understanding of industry leading information security frameworks such as ISO
27001:2013, NIST, CoBIT

·        
Strong understanding
of IT controls.

·        
Good
knowledge of networking protocols

·        
Practical
knowledge of penetration testing and vulnerability assessment

·        
Excellent
written and oral communications skills,

·        
Ability
to lead teams and support team decisions

·        
Ability
to work under pressure and adapt to change.

·        
Strong
analytical, decision making and problem solving skills

·        
Ability
to explain complex security issues to non-technical customers.

·        
Ability
to write comprehensive reports

·        
High
level of integrity
