About US:

The National
Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) is a corporate autonomous statutory
body/agency under the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoE&S) responsible
for the development of educational curricula for primary, secondary and some
tertiary institutions in Uganda. Its functions include, inter alia, initiating
processes for curricula research, review and/or reform, updating, testing and
coordinating the implementation of educational curricula at all levels of
learning (Primary, Secondary and Tertiary) as well as promulgation of guidance
for the implementation of improved educational curricula and pedagogy.

 

Job Summary:  The Graphics Designer Illustrator will be undertaking
relevant research and generating ideas leading to appropriate illustrations for
NCDC’s publications.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Assist
in design and layout of NCDC publications.

·       
Participate
in workshops where expertise is needed.

·       
Save,
store and back up document files (Softcopies) in an orderly format for ease of
future retrieval and reference.

·       
Assist
in development of preservation of NCDC brand.

·       
Liaising
with editors, writers or designer(s) to make accurate illustrations.

·       
Complete
projects as per the set time frames

·       
Any
other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The applicant
must hold an Hons Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Art and Design or
Drawing/Graphic design from a recognised Institution.

·       
One year
of graphic design work or related work experience in printing industry.

·       
Adobe
Creative Suite skills

·       
Good
Communication and Interpersonal skills

·       
Integrity.

·       
Ability
to meet deadlines under minimum supervision.

·       
Age Limit: 23 to 45 years.
