About US:

The International
Rescue Committee helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by
conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their future. It
was created by Albert Einstein more than 80 years and has been working in
Uganda since 1998. It has particularly working in the conflict zones where tens
of thousands of people have been kills and over 1.6 million displaced. Following
a peace agreement in 2006, Ugandans are returning home and looking to rebuild
their lives. The IRC is there to protect women and children from violence and
exploitation by fostering a safe environment and encouraging education, and is
supporting farmers and small businesses, and helping communities promote peace
and long-term development.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Ensure
proper storage/filling of files in designated places

·       
Cross
checks entered data to ensure data quality and completeness

·       
Runs
consistency quality checks and makes edits as appropriate

·       
Reports
any errors and malfunctions in data and the data entry tools

·       
Makes
routine backups at scheduled intervals.

·       
Support
the M&E Officer in Assessment’s processes.

·       
Supports
the implementation of IRC’s standards including the Monitoring for action
standards in field sites

·       
Perform
analysis and compile data for reporting and use at field sites for decision
making

·       
Ensure
efficient systems in place for program staff to collect and compile relevant
and concise information for routine project reports and occasional special
reports as required.

·       
Perform
regular field visits to ensure the quality of data collected by Program staff
and to verify the accuracy of the data reported.

·       
Manage
electronic tools to prevent disorganization (Keep server data confidential).

·       
Support
the M&E Officer/Manager to ensure that donor, partner, and Senior
Management data queries are addressed in an accurate and timely manner.

·       
Provide
to the supervisor, technical coordinators, program staff and districts with
monthly reports on indicator trends.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant for the International Rescue Committee (IRC) M & E Volunteer job
should preferably hold a Degree/Diploma in statistics, Economics or its
equivalent, Computer literate in MS Office

·       
Applications
and Experience in Data or records management added advantage.

·       
At least
one year of working experience in a related field

·       
Previous
work with an NGO in similar programs.

·       
Remains
productive when under pressure.

·       
Ability
to enhance good interpersonal relationship.

·       
Good
communication skills.

·       
A good
command of both written and spoken English.

·       
Excellent
organizational skills

·       
Works
collaboratively with team members to achieve results.

·       
Relates
and works well with people of different cultures, gender and backgrounds.

·       
Flexibility
and prepared to work additional hours

·       
Ability
to multi-task

·       
Ability
to work both independently and as part of a team

·       
Able to
respond rapidly to changing environments, yet remain productive and focused;

·       
Strong
and fast computer skills (primarily Word, Excel, and Power Point and outlook).
