About USAID Project:

The goal of the
five-year, USAID-funded Integrated Child and Youth Development (ICYD) Activity
is for Ugandan children and youth, especially the most vulnerable, to receive
the support and services necessary to lead resilient, healthy, and productive
lives.

 

Job Summary:  The Communications Specialist will design and
maintain knowledge and communications resources for the project S/he will lead
the design and Implementation of the communications strategy to inform the
public about the projects work. The Communications Specialist will support the
implementation of the ICDY Activity’s branding strategy including editing,
desktop publishing etc, Sine will manage social media and produce communication
materials and reports. The Communications Specialist reports to the Chief of
Party and oversees the Communications Officer This is a full-time position
based in Kampala, Uganda

 

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations,
journalism or similar field required;

·       
A
minimum of 6 to 7 years of directly relevant exporting required, preferably
working for an international organization or agency;

·       
Strong
proficiency in the use of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite,
including In-Design, Photoshop, illustrator and/ or Acrobat;

·       
Experience
working on USAID-Funded projects preferred.

·       
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills in English

·       
Familiarity
with internationally-funded projects

·       
Previous
experience working in Uganda.
