Job Summary:  The Technical Services Specialist will manage
the acquisition, installation and maintenance of warehouse equipment, medical
equipment and devices. These include air handling units, vaccine refrigerators,
vaccine, freezers, backup power generators and electric forklifts.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Advise procurement team on acquisition of equipment. Participate in
    creating technical specifications and evaluation of bids containing
    warehouse equipment, medical equipment and devices. Maintain the equipment
    technical specifications database at BLL.
  • Manage the safe installation and maintenance of warehouse equipment,
    medical equipment and devices at BLL and client premises.
  • Manage and train the team of technicians in the technical team.
  • Maintain warehouse premises, lifting, storage, cold-chain,
    electrical, and other equipment in clean condition & good working
    order. Create & execute maintenance schedules for all equipment at the
    warehouse and within BLL external service contracts.
  • Monitor & maintain controlled environments at the BLL warehouse
    and client sites within the required range of conditions. Prepare storage
    environment monitoring reports as per approved protocol; Identify, report
    & follow up immediate repair of any faulty equipment.
  • Manage the use of assigned equipment; maintain a database of all
    equipment and their spares.
  • Manage both external equipment service contracts as well as
    equipment warranty contracts under the company’s oversight.
  • Produce progress reports on equipment installation and maintenance


Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate is assertive and has excellent written and
    verbal communication and interpersonal skills; builds good client &
    customer relationships
  • A minimum of five years of working experience in management of
    similar equipment. Experience working at supervisory level for at least
    two years is preferred.
  • At the minimum, holds a degree in mechanical, refrigeration or
    related engineering field.
  • Is solution oriented with a high sense of attention to detail,
    accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Can manage multiple priorities, including quick response to
    emergencies within deadlines while delivering high quality work.
  • Has good knowledge and practice of health and safety regulations and
  • Writes accurate, legible maintenance reports. Highly skilled in
    Microsoft Office suite applications.
