family-centered pediatric HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services,
health professional training, and clinical research in Uganda. Baylor College
of Medicine Children’s Foundation -Uganda (Baylor-Uganda) is an indigenous
not-for-profit child health and development organisation affiliated to the
Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI), a
Network of paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment Children’s Clinical Centres
of Excellence and international program offices in 11 countries across Africa
and Eastern Europe.

 

Job Summary:  The Medical Logistics Officer will be
responsible for witnessing supplies upon delivery, prepare requests for
supplies receipt, storage, records and issuance. They will work with HFs to
prepare bimonthly order requests and ensure timely submission. They will assess
logistics gaps in facilities, and carry out mentorships and technical support
supervisions in the HFs. They will partner with the DHO to initiate supply
reallocations from overstocked facilities to understocked facilities to
eliminate expiries and liaise with warehouses like National Medical Stores,
Joint Medical Stores and Medical Access Uganda to ensure timely delivery of
supplies to HFs.

 




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Degree in Pharmacy or a relevant diploma
    in Pharmacy with ‘a degree in Procurement and Supply Chain management or
    professional qualifications in CIPS’.
  • At least three years of working experience in medical logistics
    health systems strengthening.
  • Skills and knowledge in forecasting, DHIS2 ordering and reporting
    for medical logistics, and stores management is key.
  • Ability to implement key elements of the National pediatric ART
    guidelines is key.
