Reports to: Manager Internal Auditor

 

About US:

Law Development
Centre (LDC) will provide legal
education to lawyers and non-lawyers, undertake research in topical legal
issues, contribute to legal reforms, produce legal publications, teaching
materials and law reports, and also provide community legal services.

 

Job Summary:   The Internal
Auditor will pre-audit payments to ensure compliance with accounting principles
and regulations; and monitor and examine financial operations to ensure value
for money.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
To
review operational financial and accounting systems to ensure efficiency.

·       
To Audit
revenue collection for accountability purposes.

·       
To Audit
procurement and payment procedures to facilitate efficient and effective
transactions of LDC.

·       
To carry
out manpower audits.

·       
To
conduct stores audit for safe custody, efficiency and economic usage of
resources.

·       
To
monitor and evaluate compliance with organizational policies, processes and
procedures and make recommendations for improvement.

·       
To
perform any other duties assigned by the Manager Internal Audit.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold a Bachelor’s (Hon) degree in Accounting or Auditing.

·       
Possession
of a relevant professional qualification such as ACCA, CIA, CPA, CIMA.

·       
Membership
of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

·       
Post
Graduate Diploma in Financial Management or Auditing.

·       
At least
two years of work experience in a public organization or reputable audit firm.

·       
Possess
excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated
organizational and analytical skills.

·       
Must be
an independent thinker, capable of forming sound conclusions and recommendations.

·       
He/she
should be a team player.

·       
He/she
should be a person of high integrity.

·       
Should
be computer literate with knowledge of Audit software applications.
