About US:

Namakera Mining Company Limited is a mining company located
in Eastern Uganda near the towns of Mbale and Tororo, approx. 190 km from the
Uganda capital, Kampala and close to the border with Kenya. The Namekara
Vermiculite deposit is hosted in the Bukusu Complex, one of a number of
Carbonatites in the Uganda/Kenya border area and the only one known to host
commercially viable vermiculite. Namekara is the registered holder of Mining
License ML 4651, upon which it operates the Namakera Vermiculite Mine and
conducts exploration activities on the Busumbu Phosphate Project. Namekara is
also the registered holder of Exploration License EL 1534 that covers the
majority of the Bukusu Complex and which is also considered prospective for
vermiculite, phosphate, copper, iron, zircon and rare earths mineralisation.

Job Summary:  The  Finance and Administration Manager will be responsible
for the overall financial reporting, cost control, budgeting, regulatory and
statutory compliance, cash flow management, safeguarding the assets with an aim
of attaining profitability.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Work with and manage the finance team

·       
Review for adequacy operational and financial
controls in the business (systems, processes and people) and recommend changes to
management;

·       
Review and file returns to the regulator and
other statutory bodies on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis;

·       
Preparation of annual and quarterly budgets;

·       
Preparation of monthly management accounts;

·       
Analysis of variance between actual and budget
on a monthly basis;

·       
Assist with the annual statutory audit;

·       
Preparation of annual and monthly cash flow
forecasts;

·       
Manage creditors and bill payments;

·       
Lodge and reconcile indirect taxes (Payroll, VAT
and Withholding taxes);

·       
Approve payments and check that all accounting
transactions are posted to the correct cost centres;

·       
Control costs and action on audit
recommendations;

·       
Liaise with external stakeholders e.g. banks and
Uganda Revenue Authority towards enhancement of company operations;

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in
Finance, Accounting, Business or in a related field. A Master’s degree an added
advantage

·       
Professional Qualifications:- CPA (U) / ACCA

·       
Minimum of Five (5) years’ relevant experience
in a similar position

·       
Excellent communication and presentation skills

·       
Problem solving skills

·       
Excellent interpersonal skills

·       
Leadership skills

·       
Good analytical skills

·       
Computer literate in MS Office and other office
applications

·       
Knowledge of Business Environment
