 About US:

Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is implementing the United States
Agency for International Development (USAID) funded activity, Strengthening
Supply Chain Systems (SSCS) that aims to reduce Essential Medicines and Health
Supply (EMHS) stock outs and dependence on external supply chain support. The
SSCS project would like to conduct a baseline survey to inform the status of
supply chain systems and identifying drivers of performance in order to support
the design of interventions and strategies that could improve EMHS at national
and sub-national levels. The baseline with also provide SSCS with the data to
measure the impact of supply chain interventions during the lifetime of the
project.

 

Job Summary:  The overall duty of the Data Collector will
be to collect data and submit them electronically to the study supervisor. The
DC will be based in the study districts all over the country for the duration
of the survey.

 Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in study team meetings throughout the duration of the
    study.
  • Perform data collection and management activities following the study
    protocol including the consent process and confidentiality requirements.
  • Review data for completeness and consistency before uploading and
    proceeding with another interview.
  • Ensure secure storage of survey data according to study protocol.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all data collected and in
    their possession at all times.
  • Keep the data collection tablets in working condition, safe and secure
    at all times.
  • Work closely with the health facilities in charge to ensure data
    collection is supported.
  • Reports to the immediate supervisor any issues that may potentially
    affect the data collection process.
  • Provide the supervisor with daily updates of data collection activities
    including interviews completed, and any other issues that may arise.
  • Execute any other duties assigned by the study coordinator and the
    investigators.

 

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:

  • The ideal candidate must hold a University degree in any public health
    related course, social sciences, population studies, demography, economics,
    statistics etc.
  • Medical qualification defined as (Nursing, Midwifery, Laboratory technology,
    Pharmacy, Clinical officer, Medical Officer).
  • Prior experience conducting similar studies using face to face
    interviews.
  • Prior experience conducting qualitative interviews.
  • Familiarity with the public health system especially supply chain
    management and HMIS reporting at health facility level.
  • Proficiency in English (both spoken and written).
  • Familiarity with the assigned study region/district.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Willingness to spend and devote an extended period of time for the
    study (2 -4 weeks).
  • Willingness to travel and reside in the assigned district for the
    entire study period.
  • Ability to work under stringent deadlines and independently with
    minimum supervision.
