Job Summary:  The MEAL Volunteer will work as a maternity
cover with the responsible of supporting the MEAL function in relatively small
awards with few indicators in designing and implementation of basic MEAL tools
to adequately plan, monitor, and report in an accurate and timely manner on program
performance. In collaboration with the Regional MEAL Manager, Head of MEAL, and
the Programme team, the job holder ensures that the Programme undertakes
routine monitoring & data quality assessment, information sharing,
collecting, tracking and responding to feedback and complaints from Programme
stakeholders.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The applicant
must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in either Statistics, Social Sciences,
Development Studies and related humanities courses, a Post Graduate training in
M&E will be added advantage.

·       
One year
of working experience in monitoring and evaluation (preferably in  education/protection/Livelihoods/Health and Nutrition
related programmes with an International NGO).

·       
Minimum
of one year working experience in monitoring and evaluation working experience (preferably
in education/protection related programmes with an International NGO).

·       
Experience
collecting data through quantitative household surveys (ideally in Karamoja
context)

·       
Experience
interviewing community members and leaders and/or facilitating focus group discussions
(especially with youth)

·       
Understanding
of the basic standards to ensure data quality

·       
Knowledge
of data analysis principles and software (ideally SPSS, excel, etc)

·       
Familiarity
with mobile data collection platforms (like Kobo Collect, etc).

·       
Experience
with monitoring and evaluation techniques to assess the quality and
effectiveness of program strategies for program learning

·       
Clear
understanding of Karamoja context and clear and fluent Ng’a karamajong
language.
