Job Summary:  The Research Manager is the lead study
implementer and is responsible for coordinating all study related
activities/operations in close consultation with the investigators. He or she
must have an excellent understanding of the study protocol and strong attention
to detail.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Coordinate
with all partners involved in the implementation of the study to ensure
efficient and effective study implementation.

·       
Oversee
the day-to-day operations of the study activities and provide both
administrative and technical oversight.

·       
Provide
supervisory support to the research sites across the country

·       
Coordinate
and supervise the study staff to ensure that staff are correctly carrying out
their duties

·       
Ensure
the protocol is rightly implemented in observance of the Human subjects’
research ethical standards.

·       
Liaise
with MoH and the participating health facilities/hospitals to ensure success
full implementation of the study.

·       
Organize
and facilitate facility/hospital steering committee coordination meetings

·       
Compile
and submit progress reports to relevant persons at the required intervals.

·       
Facilitate
preparation and submission of work plans, budgets and accountabilities in
relation to project activities.

·       
Ensure
that the project is implemented within budget and timelines.

·       
Liaising
with other teams to ensure timely availability of field logistics

·       
Any
other official duty as assigned by study Investigators

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant must hold a Master’s in Public Health, epidemiology or equivalent
from a recognized institution.

·       
At least
five years of experience in study coordination work is required; experience in
epidemiology and infectious disease research is an added advantage.

·       
Excellent
computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel);

·       
Organized
with excellent attention to detail

·       
Excellent
management, networking, and communication skills (written and verbal)

·       
Project
management skills will be an advantage
