About US:

The Insurance
Regulatory Authority of Uganda (IRA) was established under section 14 of the
Insurance Statute 1996 now The Insurance Act, (Chap213) Laws of Uganda, 2000
(Insurance Act) which came into effect on 4th April 1996 and commenced operations
in April 1997. The establishment of the Insurance Regulatory Authority of
Uganda was a consequence of Government’s adoption of the liberalization and
privatization policies which ended its role of directly engaging in the
provision of goods and services and taking on the role of supervisor or
regulator.

Job Summary:  The Administration Officer will maintain day-to-day
administrative and logistical support for the smooth functioning of operations
within IRA.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

·       
Assist
in administering and implementing Administration policies and procedures.

·       
Maintain
safe custody of administration related records and information

·       
Make
certain that all office equipment including automobiles are in good working
condition and are routinely serviced and repaired in accordance with relevant
policies.

·       
Take
record of stock and ensure availability of supplies all the time.

·       
Assist
in general office management and recommend improvement areas.

·       
Liaise
with responsible officers and ensure maintenance of office equipment,
furniture, utility services and paying utility bills on time.

·       
Ensure
timely distribution of delivered items to respective offices for smooth
operations.

·       
Timely
preparation of logistics for internal and external meetings, conferences and workshops
and, coordinate transport arrangements for staff.

·       
Ensure
effective implementation of IRA Motor Vehicle Operation and Management Policy.

·       
Verify
samples of suppliers’ items before delivery, Prepare and distribute
administration LPOs to suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of
office supplies.

·       
Participate
in planning and development of budget and setting of annual targets for the
Unit.

·       
Carry
out any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.

Timely
delivery of supplies and documentation to the destinations.

·       
Timely
servicing of all office equipment as per agreement.

·       
Zero
complaints from users of office equipment.

·       
Availability
of items, vehicles as and when needed.

·       
Timely
submission of reports.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       
The
applicant for the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda (IRA) Administration
Officer job placement must hold a Bachelor’s (Honors) Degree in Business
Administration, Procurement, Public Administration or any other management related
degree from a recognized Institution or the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree
in the related field.
