Job Summary: The Quality Assurance Assistant-Clay
Preparation & Moulding is responsible for working together with the Quarry
Officer, Quality Assurance Officer and Quality Assurance Manager to ensure that
clay recommended for excavation meets the required standards, collecting
samples and vitally analyzing the rejects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Involvement
in the prospecting & quality control in the quarry before excavation.
·
Collecting
Clay samples for analysis.
·
Collecting
samples of green products for size/dimension checks.
·
Rejects
Analysis.
·
Quality
Assurance Spot Checks & HSE Assessments.
·
Working in
accordance and within Uganda Clay’s Quality and Safety Procedures.
·
To carry
out other duties as requested by the Quality Assurance Officer.
·
To carry
out other duties as requested by the Quality Assurance Officer
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The applicant
must hold a Diploma in Chemistry or Industrial Ceramics/General Engineering
with ceramics as the main subject.
·
A minimum
of two years of experience in a busy manufacturing set up.
·
Good
sampling and analytical skills
·
Good
knowledge of ceramics manufacturing processes:
·
Clay
preparation, Product Moulding, burning, combustion and product grading.
·
Good
knowledge of physico-chemical characteristics of products, parameters and
standards applied to Clay products manufacturing.
