About US:

SUDIA is a Community
Based Organization operating in Busia and Namayingo Districts. It is a
membership organization, with a focus on poverty alleviation through skills
development, promoting social entrepreneurship, environmental protection and
improving agricultural practices. SUDIA has received a
grant from UNDP/GEF/SGP to implement a project on Control of mercury use in the
artisanal and small-scale gold mining in Namayingo District .

Job Summary:  The Project Officer will be responsible for a
two-year project and to sensitize communities on control of mercury use in the
artisanal and small-scale gold mining in Namayingo District

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       The ideal candidate must hold a Degree or
Diploma in Geology or Environment and Natural Resources Management, with at
least 2 years NGO work experience with knowledge of environmental systems.

·       Experience in project planning and management

·       Hands on experience and expertise in
sustainable use of natural resources.

·       Hands on experience in Forestation – tree
nursery bed management

·       Computer literacy with practical knowledge of
MS Office

·       Monitoring and evaluation skills including
the capacity to generate evidence based data

·       Plus: Basic skills of financial management
and knowledge of local languages
