Job Summary: The Field Program Driver & Logistics
Assistant will provide efficient and effective transport services to Ayuda en
Acción field program staffs, partners, supporters, guests and manage vehicles,
equipment, maintenance, and other support logistics of the field programme
office in compliance with finance, admin, operations and vehicle policies and regulations of the
organization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Based on
the policy and procedures of Ayuda en Acción, drive the assigned vehicle
skillfully, provide transport service for Ayuda en Acción staffs, projects and
staffs from other organizations who work as partners, volunteers, guests,
consultants etc as may be assigned.
·
S/he
needs to plan for periodic services and maintenance (A and B service) of the
vehicle in a timely manner.
·
Comply
with all the requirements as per Ayuda en Acción security & vehicle
regulations;
·
S/he has
to support his/ her immediate supervisor updating of the vehicle files like
maintenance record, finished and current log-book records, insurance records,
etc are documented in well-organized manner in both hard and soft copy.
·
S/he has
to support the country office on overall fixed asset management and procurement
e.g support the procurement committee on the procurement processes, make sure
all the fixed assets have asset tags and being fixed within one month of the
assets acquisition, support the team on the annual inventory of asset, based on
the direction s/he gets from the Regional Finance and Administration
Coordinator or other relevant supervisory staff;

Based on
the Terms of Reference for events prepared and the direction of his/her
supervisor(s), s/he is responsible for providing support during trainings or
workshops for example in the setup of the meeting hall, stationery
distribution, updating workshop attendance sheets, support the cashier on
payments to deserving participants like government officials, communities,
partners and staff, and other stakeholders as well as providing support during
the refreshment time.

As may
be instructed or deemed necessary, support in office operations like delivering
and picking documents/mails/parcels to and from chosen destinations and follow
up on communications in motion and with clear accountability.
·
Assist
in banking activities especially depositing cash and cheques, assist in picking
quotations from service providers if any.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The
applicant must have education attainment of secondary education or Diploma in
any related field;
·
A
minimum of four years of previous experience driving vehicles including 4WD and
basic maintenance;
·
Two
years of clean driving experience with INGOS;
·
English
fluency, knowledge of the local languages spoken in West Nile;
·
Driving
license for the vehicle preferably with classes B, CM and DL;
·
Certificate
or knowledge of Defensive Driving skills will be a strong added advantage;
·
Training
in Basic Financial and Logistics Management is an added advantage too;
·
Excellent
knowledge of mechanics, assembly, and operations of a wide range of off-road
vehicles
·
Experience
with driving to remote locations on project field trips and driving off the
road in difficult conditions;
·
Experience
in estate and office logistic support;
·
Good
knowledge of INGO’s operations and culture;
·
Basic
Computer skills and familiarity with software packages under Windows and Email,
ability to work with smart gadgets like phones and tablets etc.
