Job Summary: The Manager, Management Information Systems
will design, set-up, maintain and continuously improve the Management
Information capability across the business units
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and set-up
Management Information Capability
·
Establish
the business requirements and design a capability to support this requirement.
·
Set-up,
implement and stabilise this capability.
·
Maintain
and continuously improve the design of this capability to flex towards business
and customer needs.
·
Data
extraction and Data Validation/Information Gathering
·
Interface
with multiple business across the organization to gather and understand
analytics reporting requirements.
·
Translate
and package data in a way that meets functional area specifications.
·
Understand,
define & build the data, systems and architecture of front end applications
and back end data; together with the relevant stakeholders such as IT.
·
Lead MIS
team in identifying and pulling the data from the relevant data source/s (e.g.,
enterprise information warehouse (EIW)) using Cognos /SQL/SAS or any of the
existing extraction tools.
·
Analysing
and presenting data to enable effective business management.
·
Lead and
manage test planning and execution.
·
Lead the
process of data extraction to ensure that data is correct and meets functional
area data specifications.
·
Lead
report design, maintenance, automation and standardisation of reports as
required
·
Identify
and drive the translation of ad hoc reports to automatic dashboard-based
reports
·
Ensure
the team adheres to reporting requirements and standards as stipulated in the
service level agreement (SLA); measurement governance framework
·
Provide
insights and intelligence through analytics, which includes the analysis of
business information to identify process improvements for increasing business
efficiency and effectiveness; trends and impact analysis of economic forecasts.
·
Provide
trend analytics pro-actively, and on stakeholder request.
Provide Decision
Support
·
Act as a
change agent to continuously challenge the status quo, proactively identifying
opportunities, and in so doing ensure on-going growth, improvement and
sustainability of the CRR environment
·
Recommend,
influence and support proposed solutions and projects
·
Support
the Business with strategic plans, change initiatives and related reporting and
action plans.
·
Respond
to environmental and/ or business requirements for change in the CRR
environment
·
Ensure
reporting alignment across the business, enabling Capabilities across all bank
wide MIS teams
Manage Stakeholder
Engagements
·
Understand
customer requirements and provide appropriate technical solutions.
·
Build
and maintain strong relationships with internal clients and recommend
innovative solutions to business problems.
·
Work
within cross-functional teams to resolve reporting requirements and recurring
customer issues
·
Provide
customer support and assistance with reporting enquiries/issue troubleshooting
and resolution.
·
Manage a
team of MIS Officers
·
Take a
customer-centric view
·
Develop
supportive relationships
·
Communicate
actively and effectively resolving any potential conflicts that may arise, and
sharing and providing relevant information
·
Identify
and build skillsets within the MI Capability team
·
Management
of stakeholder expectations so as to meet delivery deadlines
·
Management
of deliverables (especially aligned to agreed project list)
·
Manage
multiple (internal) customer needs and relationship.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The ideal
candidate for the Stanbic Bank Manager, Management Information Systems job must
hold a Business Degree from a recognized University. Field of study Finance
& Accounting
·
BCom or
BSc degree (major subjects to include Informatics and/or Financial Management
and/or Statistics and/or Mathematics and/or Information Management and/or
Marketing and/or Information Science and/or Mathematical Statistics)
·
Other
qualifications, certifications or professional memberships: Business, Data,
Operational Risk or Legal
·
5-7
years in information management, operational risk or governance
·
5-7
years experience in data management data management and modelling.
Understanding of data-bases, storage and back-up, ETL and data-warehouse
architecture
·
