is a not for profit organization that specializes in communications for
development and behavioural change work mainly through the broadcast media. The
foundation primarily conducts its work through grants from partner
organizations with similar goals, and that goal is broadly bringing about
positive change in the social, political, and economic condition of Uganda by
empowering ordinary Ugandans at the grass root level.
Job Summary:  The Communications and Marketing officer is
responsible for managing all internal and external communications for the
organization, ensuring its messages are consistent and audiences well informed.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:  
·       
In
charge of developing an integrated communications strategy for the organization
incorporating Public Relations, Marketing, and Online that will enable Wizarts
Foundation to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted
high-level audiences
·       
Developing
and Implementing communications plans to increase visibility and recognition of
the organization.
·       
Participate
in the resource mobilization process of the organization by participating in
networking meetings, organizing events that lead to visibility and
participating in proposal writing.
·       
Building
relationships with key media to secure and grow media coverage for the
Foundation and its projects both online and offline.
·       
Liaise
with partner radio stations to ensure they are broadcasting content as required
and also keeping them informed on what the foundation is doing.
·       
Developing
Monthly E-Newsletter and Quarterly newsletters for the Organisation.
·       
Responsible
for all documentaries of the Foundation’s work to include videography and
photography
·       
Developing
and leading the organization’s internal communication strategy
·       
Managing
all Media platforms and engagements.
·       
Constantly
examining the latest trends in the marketing, creative, communications, and
digital markets and incorporating relevant trends into the organization’s
communications and marketing strategy.
·       
Track
happenings within the government that could affect the different project
activities being implemented by the organization.
·       
Prepare
concept papers and PowerPoint presentations to present to external parties.
·       
Identify
funding opportunities and cultivate relationships with prospective funders.
·       
Represent
the organization at partner and other stakeholder engagements.
·       
Design
and monitor the annual activity calendar.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·       
The
ideal background should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Mass
Communication with a GPA of 3.5 or above would also be an advantage.
·       
Previous
experience as a Communications and Marketing officer for a similar organization
would be a strong advantage.
·       
A highly
articulate individual with excellent written communications and presentation
skills are essential.
·       
A proven
ability to lead communications strategies in other organizations.
·       
Leadership
experience at work, or outside of work
·       
Prior
work with donor-funded projects.
