About US:

Jinja Regional
Referral Hospital, commonly known as Jinja Hospital, is a hospital in the city
of Jinja, eastern Uganda. It is the largest hospital in eastern Uganda, with a
bed capacity of 600, although many more patients are admitted, with many
sleeping on the floor

About the Project:

Jinja Regional
Referral Hospital has received funding from USAID to implement a Government to
Government project aimed at: piloting the concept of Regional Referral
Hospitals as a center of excellence in HIV services delivery () promoting
learning and adaptation to inform successful scale up of the pilot. The
specific outcomes expected are:  Improved
availability and quality of HIV services, strengthened systems to improve
sustainability and accountability, and Collaborating. Learning and adapting
throughout the life cycle of the project to support its success and any
follow-on programming.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·       Participate in planning, budgeting,
coordinating, monitoring and evaluating Counsel patients and relatives with
social needs.

·       Offer psycho-social support, social care and
emotional therapy to patients.

·       Liaise with Hospital management in the provision
of social services to patients.

·       Carry out home visits to patients/clients.

·       Impart coping skills to patients and
relatives Participate in research activities.

·       Adhere to the Professional Code of Conduct
and Ethics.

·       Manage and account for allocated resources.

·       Supervise and appraise staff. Compile and
submit reports.

·       Perform any other duties as may be assigned
from time to time

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·       The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s
Degree (Hons) in Social Work and Social Administration (SWASA) from a
recognized institution
