Makerere University,
Kampala is Uganda’s largest and oldest institution of higher
learning, first established as a technical school in 1922. It became
an independent national university in 1970. Today, Makerere University is
composed of nine colleges and one school offering programmes for about 36,000
undergraduates and 4,000 postgraduates.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Receive
patients and register admissions, discharge and deaths;
·
Provide
treatment to patients;
·
Maintain
a clean and healthy environment for patients;
·
Prepare
and carryout sterile procedures and disposal of medical waste;
·
Participate
in bedside nursing procedures as a member of the caring team;
·
Perform
any other official duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
He / she
must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
from a recognized training institution.
·
Must be
registered and licensed with the Nurses and Midwives Council.
·
Age
Limit: Below 50 years
