Job Summary:
The Head Enterprise Data Office mainly designs, develops and implements an
enterprise wide Data Strategy to deliver value encompassing capability
modelling, influencing data monetisation, investments and data culture. Convene
Enterprise Data stereco, review industry trends and monitor relevant policy and
regulation, Uphold the statutory and regulatory requirements
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Drive the benchmark
for Enterprise Data via best practices, policies & regulations
·
Act as
point of interaction for Enterprise-wide data related issues to Exco and their
mandated committees.
·
Convene
Enterprise Data Stereco and help ensure clarity of mandates of existing data
management and analytics forums in the group.
·
Keeping
abreast of trends and development in data management and relevant policy and
legislation.
·
Actively
promote and propagate existing best practice within organisation to consistent
enterprise wide standards.
·
Develop
capability model for Enterprise Data, review current capability levels of
Business Units and plans to achieve desired state.
·
Facilitate
promotion and propagation of best practice with practitioners and knowledge
sharing guilds through the division.
·
Maintain
any Enterprise-wide key data standards documents, obtaining approval for
changes via Enterprise Data Council and in alignment with other Group
stakeholders (e.g. privacy office, data security)
Provide the
enterprise wide with the standard Data requirements in order to facilitate
strategic business decisions:

Create
structures to support development of data capability at a localised level
within the context of Business Unit priorities and the Enterprise strategy.
·
Work
with Divisional Executives to develop plans that exploit Enterprise data assist
to improve performance of their divisions.
·
Assist
in training and development of the analyst and data science community via the
guild structure.
·
Housing
in the Enterprise Data Office any data or analytics function that Enterprise
Data Council agrees is best provided to the organisation at an Enterprise
level.
·
Act as a
co-ordination & review body for Enterprise Data
·
Surface
and highlight the Enterprise initiatives that are monetising data (active and
proposed), the cost of data investment to most cost-effectively achieve
objectives
·
Measures
progress against data related audit issues and issues raised by external
stakeholders (including regulators and large commercial clients).
·
Facilitate
a review from Divisional Executives of the degree to which Enterprise Data
Office has facilitated them to achieve their data monetisation objectives and
data governance obligations
·
Facilitate
a review from Divisional Executives of the degree to which Enterprise Data
Office has facilitated them to achieve their data monetisation objectives and
data governance obligations

Facilitate
the building of a Data skill pipeline for the enterprise
·
Facilitate
a review from Divisional Executives of the degree to which Enterprise Data
Office has facilitated them to achieve their data monetisation objectives and
data governance obligations

Facilitate
a review from Divisional Executives of the degree to which Enterprise Data
Office has facilitated them to achieve their data monetisation objectives and

Risk and compliance
management
·
Review
the overall risk and compliance pertaining to digital banking. Highlight key
and common risks and initiate innovative risk mitigation measures.
·
Review
product and channel control requirements at least annually to determine if they
are still adequate to mitigate risk to the desired level.
·
Work
with assurance teams and internal audit to scope reviews and audits. Own and
agree remedial actions for audit findings.
·
Ensure
that the digital channels teams understand compliance requirements. Call for
support from the Compliance Officer when required.
·
Initiate
and drive business continuity plans; and ensure that they are aligned across
the business area. Monitor progress on corrective actions after BCM tests.
·
Participate
in the development of operational risk tolerance thresholds. Actively work to
minimise the economic capital allocations for operational risk.
Manage a team of
Data specialists
·
Facilitate
a review from Divisional Executives of the degree to which Enterprise Data
Office has facilitated them to achieve their data monetisation objectives and
data governance obligations
·
Develop
a high performing team to ensure that they are seen as industry specialists.
·
Motivate
team members as they provide industry standards but to see the realisation of
these they have to work through others.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·
The
ideal candidate for the Stanbic Bank Head Enterprise Data Office job must hold
a Masters Degree from a recognized University. Field of study Finance &
Accounting
·
Actuarial
Science or CFA preferred
·
7-10
years experience working in a Financial Services organisation with data to
extract commercial value
·
5-7
years experience in leadership
·
Experience
leading actuarial or quantitative analysis function; Managing an income
statement; Implementing data driven strategies via decision engines or big data
applications into customer flows to give real-time automated decisions.
·
Experience
of operating within a multi-national matrix organisation
·
Experience
in Analysis and design
·
Experience
in Information and Operational Risk Management
·
Experience
in Risk Management and or Information Technology
·
